The palace was built in 1892 by Domenico Colosso from Ugento, who married a noblewoman of the Tafuri family from Nardò. The palace was built on the remains of the Porta San Paolo. The aristocratic residence overlooks Piazza della Repubblica, which is commonly called, by the citizens of Nardò, ‘Piazza Tre Palme’ because of the historical presence of exotic plants in the square in front of the entrance.
