Personè Palace is located in the main street of the old town of Nardò, called Lata, from the Latin word larga (wide), because it is wider than the other public old town streets. It is situated in the neighborhood Sant'Angelo.
It is known as “the palace of a hundred rooms” because of the large number of rooms with which it was listed in the 19th-century land register.
The palace has four floors and its position in front of the wonderful St. Josef Church shows the social status of the owner. In fact, the Personè family was the richest family in the area of Nardò.
